The Responsible Collective Negotiations Act – S-3810/A5862 – has been posted for consideration today in the Assembly Budget Committee, and Assembly members need to know we support it.
The first thing you can do is register online and tell the committee that your union backs this bill.CLICK HERE and fill out the form to be heard.
The bill would strengthen public employee unions’ position in collective bargaining by expanding the list of items open to negotiation. Terms and conditions of employment to be negotiated would include layoffs, assigned duties, disciplinary matters, performance evaluations and promotions, and subcontracting. Currently, many of these are completely dictated by management.
This legislation is strongly supported by the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, AFSCME, AFT, CWA, IFPTE, Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ – IAFF), the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and many other public employees unions.
Finally, please send a letter to the Legislature by CLICKING HERE. Stand with your brothers and sisters by supporting this overdue historic legislation.
In Unity,
